Peace Study

We are learning to explain and discuss our beliefs about peace and how to resolve conflict.

The special peace song we love to sing.
The peacemakers we have learnt about-

NELSON MANDELA
Nelson Mandela was famous for being the first black president and was a good leader for his nation.
Nelson Mandela was born in Mvezo, South Africa July 18 1918. He fought for civil rights in South Africa for the equal opportunities for the blacks. He also grew up to be part of the human rights movement and fought for his country. Sadly he grew up in a very poor village and they had no furniture and his family also had a shortage of food. He spent most of his life in prison, 27 years. All he wanted was for all people of all races to have equal rights.
Nelson Mandela was a leader in the African National Congress. He pushed hard for the congress to give equal rights for the black people in South Africa. He planned and planted a bomb to blow up a building, but he wanted to make sure no one was hurt and that’s why he went to prison. When he was let out from prison he continued a campaign to end apartheid. Nelson Mandela died in June 2013 last year.
