Welcome back to term 4.  

We are heading towards the end of the school year and this will be a busy term.

Big Idea: Joy of celebration. Joy of sharing our gifts!

Rich concept:

How can we demonstrate an attitude of gratitude each day in order to be joyful? APPRECIATION 


How do we use the gifts God has given us to bring JOY to others? BE A GIFT


How do we experience JOY through the arts:  CULTURAL APPRECIATION/ GIFTEDNESS/GRATITUDE

Learning Areas	Coverage
ENGLISH	Reading materials and online sites focus on Peace and Joy. Working in groups.
MATHEMATICS	Differentiated levels, outcomes and activities. Strand Study: Focus on Geometry and Measurement and the two weeks consolidation and review on Statistics and Probability
SCIENCE/ TECHNOLOGY	Physical World: Simple Machines/ Force and Motion Exploration Experimentation
SOCIAL SCIENCES	How we remember the past History of toys Early Christians and Church How Advent come about Christmas around the world
HEALTH AND PE	Health- Education Outside the Classroom: Year 5-6 Camp—date to be confirmed PE- Small balls and Athletics/ Interschool athletic competition
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION	Strand: Communion of Saints focus on Mary ( The Rosary) – 5 weeks Church for 3 weeks Advent for 2 weeks
THE ARTS	Visual Arts: Sculpture/collage Dance:  Liturgical Dance/ Cultural Dance Drama: skit and role play / readers theatre Music: RE songs/ Christmas carols
HOME LEARNING	Weekly Vocabulary words Read variety of books or online ebook at least 30 minutes every night Write 2 book reviews To finish unfinished class activities and exercises in Maths     ( level work and exercises),  Reading articles, RE ( worksheets/activities),  Inquiry activities or projects

Nov 2--- All Souls Day Liturgy

Nov 5 --- Athletics Day; saving day Nov 10

Nov 11-13--- Years 5-6 Camp

Nov 19  --- Athletic zone Finals

Nov 22 – School mass- Christ the King Day

Nov 28 ---Eden/ Albert Cultural Festival

Dec 1--- Jack Flash Theatre Show at 1:50 pm

Dec 4--- Christmas Showcase

Dec 9--- Annual Awards

Dec 11--- Thanksgiving Mass

Dec 16---Last day of School closes at noon
